I am spending money to build a green home so?

melann asked:

I personally believe that global warming is a natural cyclical event…but I also believe in a clean enviroment and each of us can help clean it up. I am building an environmently clean home and realize that this will help with any human contributions to the issue. My energy costs will be lower also. My question is with the thousands of dollars to do this what addional benefits will i have and are there any governmental incentives to do this. I would think that there would be more than just the little tax breaks you get when a person is doing such a huge project.

Do you think the building codes in America should be greened as much as possible?

Stan S asked:

Wouldn’t this save the enviroment and help with energy securiety? Wouldn’t it also save people money? I’m not seeing a downside to more energy, heating and lighting efficient buildings built with more enviromentally friendly less toxic materials, is there one? I know that construction costs would sometimes go up but any initial increase in costs would be offset over a short period of time due to the savings greener construction would generate.
What I was trying to get at was raising that minimum standerd as much as possible.
in terms of enviromental friendliness, and energy efficiency.

If you’re making a Green Home, where would you build it?

Jahzarra asked:

I mean, you would wwant to make it somewhere sunny, for solar panels, but somewhere that it was fairly windy, for wind power. And you wouldn’t want water to freeze over in the winter - any ideas? Thanks! :-)

What Animal would You want to drive to Work?

Posted on timeApril 5th, 2009 by userpcgumban    flag(10) Comments

Nick K asked:

Imagine low emissions, pratically no traffic jams, Roads covered by a loose layer of dirt and grass, being reclaimed by nature.
You see people riding on the backs of giraffes, ostriches, horses, and many other animals as they go to work in green-buildings.

What kind of animal would you want to take to work instead o a car? how many mpf (miles per feed) would it get?
